How a project is organised

Every record belongs to a project and a phase.

Labour, materials and costs recorded against the right phase

Aaghaz360 is in development. This page describes what it is being built to do, not a list of released features. Construction is the starting point; other industries are a direction, not finished functionality. Screenshots and confirmed details will be added as they are ready.

The short version

What Aaghaz360 is, and what it is for.

What Aaghaz360 is

Aaghaz360 is a configurable, multi-tenant SaaS platform that DetSol is building for construction companies and related project-based businesses. It is designed to connect project planning, site execution, labour, materials, inventory, procurement and project finances in one system.

Office and site teams are meant to work from the same records: a project is broken into phases, activities and tasks, site engineers report the day's work from a phone, and material requests move to the store and to procurement — so owners can follow progress and spending without stitching spreadsheets and message threads together.

The problem it solves

On a construction project the information lives in different places: the plan in a spreadsheet, daily progress in a supervisor's notebook, material requests in messages, quotations on paper and costs in the accounts. Every handover is a chance for something to be lost or counted twice. Aaghaz360 is being built so that a request, an approval, a purchase, a delivery and the day's site work are each recorded once, against the right project and phase.

Construction workflows

Project, phase, activity, task, milestone.

Every task, person, material and cost is meant to sit against the right project and phase. The phases and templates are configured per project — these are examples of how a building project could be set up, not a fixed list.

  1. Project
  2. Phase
  3. Activity
  4. Task
  5. Milestone

Example phase

Foundation

Excavation, reinforcement and concrete, with the foundation materials and labour they need.

Example phase

Grey structure

Masonry, concrete and reinforcement work, with the associated labour.

Example phase

Finishing

Plastering, flooring, painting, electrical and plumbing, each with its own materials and labour.

On site

The day's work, recorded from a phone.

Site engineers and supervisors should not need a desktop for routine field reporting. Daily site records are being designed for mobile use — practical forms, readable tables, and photos and documents attached where they help.

What a daily site record is designed to capture

  • The date, and the project, phase or activity the work belongs to
  • Labour deployed, by category or by the work performed
  • Materials consumed, with quantities
  • Progress made and site observations
  • Supporting photos, files and documents
  • Shortages and material requests that need the store or procurement to act

Stores, materials and procurement

Five records, never one blurred figure.

A central company store and optional project or site stores, with material requests reviewed and fulfilled by the storekeeper. A request, a purchase, a receipt, a store issue and site consumption are separate events — so what was requested, bought, received, issued and used can each be answered on its own.

01

Requested

A site or project asks for materials

02

Purchased

An approved purchase order is placed

03

Received

A delivery is received into a store or at site

04

Issued

The store issues materials to a project or site

05

Consumed

The site records what was actually used

From a site demand to a delivered order

The intended procurement flow. Some purchase orders belong to one project; others are general company purchases. Suppliers do not log in — quotations are requested and recorded by your team.

  1. Demand raised

A project or site team raises a material demand.

  2. Items reviewed

The items and quantities are checked against what the work needs.

  3. Quotations recorded

Supplier quotations are requested or recorded, with specifications, brand or quality, and prices.

  4. Purchase approved

The right person reviews and approves the proposed purchase.

  5. Purchase order issued

An approved demand leads to a purchase order, which can be edited where permitted and resubmitted for approval.

  6. Delivery received

Delivery and receipt are recorded against the order, into a store or straight to a project site.

Configurable

Built around construction, designed to bend.

Phases, activities, task templates, materials and responsibilities are configured rather than hard-coded, which is what should let the same platform serve other project-based businesses. These are intended directions; industry-specific functionality beyond construction is not complete.

Construction and building contractors

The starting point the product is being built around.

Solar installation companies

Projects organised around survey, design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.

Plumbing contractors

Phases and activities adapted to plumbing jobs.

Electrical contractors

Phases and activities adapted to electrical work.

Who it's for

Aaghaz360 is built for these people.

Owners and directors who need project status, spending, pending approvals and risks in one place

Project managers planning phases, assigning responsibility and tracking progress

Site engineers and supervisors recording the day's work, labour and materials from a phone

Storekeepers handling receipts, stock movements, site issues and material requests

Procurement staff managing demands, supplier quotations, approvals and purchase orders

Finance staff following project costs, bills and payments

Principles

What Aaghaz360 is being built around.

One connected workflow

Projects, people, materials, procurement and financial records are designed to work together, so a figure on a project summary comes from the records behind it rather than from a separate spreadsheet.

Practical for site teams

Routine field reporting is being designed for a phone: practical forms, readable tables, and photo and document attachments, so a site engineer does not need a desktop computer.

Traceable materials

A material request, an approved purchase, a goods receipt, a store issue and actual site consumption are kept as distinct events, so what was requested, bought, received, issued and used can each be answered separately.

Configurable by business type

Project phases, activities, task templates, materials and responsibilities are meant to be configured per business and per project, rather than requiring a separate application for every industry.

Role-based access

Each employee is intended to see only the information and actions their role allows — a storekeeper's view is not an owner's view.

Grounded reporting

Numbers are meant to come from actual application records rather than from duplicated or manually maintained summaries.

What's inside

Questions

Aaghaz360, answered.

What is Aaghaz360?

Aaghaz360 is a configurable, multi-tenant SaaS platform that DetSol is building for construction companies and related project-based businesses. It is designed to connect project planning, site execution, labour, materials, inventory, procurement and project finances in one system.

Is Aaghaz360 available now?

Not yet. Aaghaz360 is in development and is not publicly available. Construction and project-based businesses that want to discuss how it would fit their work can contact DetSol at detsol.com/contact.

Who is Aaghaz360 for?

Aaghaz360 is being built for construction companies first: owners and directors, project managers, site engineers and supervisors, storekeepers, procurement staff and finance teams, each with access limited to what their role allows.

How does Aaghaz360 organise a construction project?

Aaghaz360 is designed around a project model of project, phase, activity, task and milestone, configured per project. For a building, phases might cover planning, foundation, grey structure, finishing and handover, each with its own activities, task templates, people, materials and costs.

Can site engineers use Aaghaz360 from a phone?

That is a central design goal. Aaghaz360 is being designed so that site engineers and supervisors can record the day's work, labour, materials consumed, progress, photos and material shortages from a mobile device rather than a desktop computer.

Does Aaghaz360 handle materials and procurement?

Aaghaz360 is designed to cover a central store and optional site stores, material requests raised from site, storekeeper fulfilment, supplier quotations, purchase approval, purchase orders and receipt of deliveries. A request, a purchase, a receipt, a store issue and site consumption are kept as separate records.

Is Aaghaz360 only for construction?

Construction is the starting point. Because phases, activities and task templates are configurable, the wider direction is to support other project-based businesses such as solar installers, plumbing contractors and electrical contractors. Industry-specific functionality for those businesses is not yet complete.

Run construction or project-based work?

Aaghaz360 is still being built. Tell us how your projects, sites and stores run today and we will tell you honestly how it would fit.
