The short version
What SaveBox is, and what it is for.
What SaveBox is
SaveBox is an Android app that saves a video from a link to your phone's gallery. You paste a link, see the video's title, length and thumbnail, choose a quality, and the finished file is saved to your gallery as a standard MP4.
No account is needed to start: a fresh install works as a guest with its own download history, and creating an account later upgrades that guest in place without losing anything.
The problem it solves
Keeping a video for offline viewing usually means copying a link between apps and websites, ending up with a file your phone will not play, or finding it saved somewhere the gallery never looks. SaveBox does one job: it checks the link, lets you choose the quality before anything downloads, converts the result to a format every phone plays, and saves it where your gallery already looks.
Who it's for
SaveBox is built for these people.
People who want a video on their phone for a flight, a commute or a place with no signal
Anyone who would rather try an app before creating an account for it
People who want to choose the quality, and the space it takes, before downloading
Why it's different
What SaveBox gets right.
See it before you save it
SaveBox shows the title, length and thumbnail first, then offers best available, 720p or 480p, so you choose the quality and the space it takes before anything downloads.
Plays on any phone
Every download is converted to an H.264/AAC MP4 with fast start enabled, so it opens in the phone's own player rather than needing a particular app.
No account required
A fresh install works immediately as a guest with its own history. Creating an account, with email and password or Google sign-in, is optional and keeps everything already saved.
Nothing lingers on the server
Files are held on the server only long enough for the phone to fetch them — 24 hours — and then deleted automatically. The record of what you saved stays in your history.
How it works
Three steps, and the last one happens on its own.
Paste the link
Copy a video's link and paste it into SaveBox. It shows you the title, length and thumbnail before anything downloads.
Pick a quality
Choose best available, 720p or 480p — whichever suits the video and the space you have.
It lands in your gallery
The finished video is saved to Movies/SaveBox and shows up in your gallery app like anything else on the phone.
Free plan
What everyone gets, without paying.
The same limits apply with or without an account.
| What | Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|

| At the same time | 2 | The rest queue and run in turn |

Questions
SaveBox, answered.
What is SaveBox?
- SaveBox is an Android app built by DetSol that saves a video from a link to your phone's gallery. You paste the link, see the title, length and thumbnail, choose a quality, and the video is saved as a standard MP4.
Do I need an account to use SaveBox?
- No. A fresh SaveBox install works immediately as a guest with its own download history. Creating an account, with email and password or Google sign-in, is optional, and it upgrades the guest in place so nothing already saved is lost.
Is SaveBox free?
- Yes. SaveBox is free on Google Play. The free plan allows ten downloads a day and two at the same time, with the rest queued, and guests get the same limits as account holders.
What quality can SaveBox save?
- SaveBox offers best available, 720p or 480p, shown before anything downloads. Quality is capped only by the source video.
Where do SaveBox videos go?
- SaveBox saves each video to the Movies/SaveBox folder, so it appears in the phone's gallery app. Every download is converted to an H.264/AAC MP4 so it plays in the phone's own player.
Does SaveBox keep copies of my videos?
- Only briefly. SaveBox holds a file on its server just long enough for the phone to fetch it — 24 hours — and then deletes it automatically. Your download history, the record of what you saved and when, is kept so you can see it later.
Is SaveBox available on iPhone?
- No. SaveBox is an Android app, available on Google Play.
SaveBox has its own site
This page is DetSol's description of SaveBox. The app's own site is savebox.live, with its privacy policy and account deletion page, and the app itself is on Google Play.
