The short version

What Stockroot is, and what it is for.

What Stockroot is

Stockroot is web-based inventory and business management software for trading and distribution businesses in Pakistan. It records stock in each godown, purchase and sales orders, deliveries, invoices, payments and payroll in one system, so stock levels and customer and supplier balances come from the same records.

Stock held per godown and moved by transfers, orders received and delivered in parts, customer and supplier ledgers with aging, and staff attendance and payroll — in PKR, with Pakistani defaults already in place.

The problem it solves

Stock in a register, credit in a khata and profit worked out at month end: three records that never quite agree. Most inventory software is written for other markets, so a Pakistani business also starts by correcting currency, timezone, phone format and tax identifiers. Stockroot records each receipt, delivery and payment once, and every screen and report reads from that same record.

Who it's for

Stockroot is built for these people.

Distributors and wholesalers holding stock in one or more godowns

Trading companies that sell to other businesses on credit and need to know who owes what

Businesses that receive and deliver orders in parts rather than all at once

Owners who want staff attendance and payroll in the same system as their trading

Why it's different

What Stockroot gets right.

Pakistan-first, not Pakistan-localised

PKR and Rs, Asia/Karachi, +92 numbers and NTN are the defaults everywhere. Invoices and orders carry your company NTN, logo and bank details, and print on A4, A5, Letter, Legal or 80 mm thermal paper.

Stock is never typed over

Stock changes only through a recorded document — a goods receipt, a delivery, a return, a transfer or an approved adjustment — so every quantity can be traced back to what changed it.

Reserve on confirmation, invoice on delivery

Confirming a sales order reserves the stock so two people cannot promise the same cartons. Deliveries and goods receipts can come in parts, and each one raises the invoice or supplier bill for what actually moved.

Roles that match the job

Ready-made roles for admin, sales, purchasing, inventory, accounts, store keeping and viewing, plus custom roles built from individual permissions. Confirming a purchase order is a separate permission from creating one.

What's inside

From the godown to the ledger, in one system.

Every one of these is a working part of Stockroot today — not a roadmap. Each reads from the same recorded receipts, deliveries and payments, which is why the numbers agree.

Inventory

On hand, reserved and available per godown, valued at weighted-average cost, with low-stock alerts

Godowns

Multiple warehouses, transfers that are sent and then received, and stock adjustments approved with a reason

Quotations

Quotes converted into sales orders without retyping the lines

Customer payments matched to open invoices, and advances applied to later invoices

How it works

Set up once, then buy, sell and get paid.

Stockroot is set up in the order its records depend on each other. Get the first phase right and everything after it is day-to-day trading rather than decisions.

  1. Set up

    Set up the workspace

Each business gets its own workspace at yourcompany.stockroot.pk, with its own users and data. Add your godowns, your logo and colours, choose what printed documents show, and switch sales tax on if your company charges it.

  2. Set up

Bring in products, parties and opening stock

Import the catalogue from Excel or CSV using a fixed four-column template — category, product name, unit and pack size — or add products one at a time with SKU, brand and a reorder level. Customers, suppliers and banks each carry their own ledger from the moment they exist. Then record opening stock for each warehouse.

  3. Operate

    Buy stock in

Raise a purchase order, which someone with approval rights confirms. Each goods receipt records what actually arrived and into which godown: stock rises, the average cost updates, and the supplier bill for what was received is created in the same step.

What makes Stockroot built for Pakistan?
